He was born Richard Milton Rabassa Conge on October 5, 1966 at St. Mary Immaculate Hospital in Jamaica, Queens County, NYC, NY.
Baptized in Saint Patrick's Cathedral in Manhattan; same price as the local church and much more elegant.
Dr. Iandoli was in charge.
Dr. Carlos Ortiz checked him as a newborn.
At that time we lived at 97-01 38th Avenue, Corona, NY 11368
Some of the dates are no longer in our minds.
We believe his first trip to a foreign country was to Toronto, Canada. He flew with his parents to Buffalo and then went to Toronto in a rented car, the famous Ford Mustang convertible.
Shortly thereafter in the summer of 1967 he went to meet his relatives in Uruguay. It was the greatest time of air travel. He went in a Boeing 707, sleeping all the way in a crib mounted against the partition between 1st class and Economy, where we were seating. A few years later, only the Pope and a few heads of state were able to have that luxury. And they called that Economy.
